About Unlearning Economics
I’m Cahal Moran, an economics YouTuber offering analysis and commentary from a broadly left-wing perspective. My channel explores a wide range of topics — from macroeconomics, housing and urbanism, and the economics of race and gender, to the inner workings of the economics profession. My background is in behavioural economics, which I studied for my PhD.
While my videos are informed by leftist ideas, I also critique the left where its economics are lacking or inconsistent. My goal is to encourage rigorous, evidence-based discussion and make the ideas in economics accessible to everyone.
Creating these videos is my full-time job, and each one involves substantial research and production costs — including hiring editors, animators, and other collaborators to ensure the highest quality. I typically release a new video every couple of months, though the timing depends on the topic and scope.
If you’d like to support my work, any contribution is deeply appreciated. Your support helps keep the channel independent and sustainable — ideally without relying on sponsors. I also post exclusive content for Unlearners, my community of supporters, from time to time.
